Sara Thomason co-coordinates the film program, in addition to teaching courses in cinematography and basic film production. Sara continues to work as a cinematographer across the southeast collaborating on myriad projects from web-series to shorts to a virtual reality children’s television series.



TRAVIS NEWTON

Screenwriting | Producing
MFA: Florida State University

Travis Newton co-coordinates the film program at WKU, in addition to teaching courses in screenwriting and producing. His most recent short film, Woodshed, screened at festivals across the country, and the feature-length screenplay was a 2017 Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist. His debut feature film, Land of Tomorrow, is currently in post-production.



LUKE PENNINGTON

Directing | Sound
MFA: University of Southern California

Luke Pennington teaches directing and sound, as well as production workshops. His feature film debut, Hit Men, is available on Amazon Prime. Luke is currently writing Taken Films’ feature The Reign, selected as IndieWire’s ‘Project of the Month – April 2016.’



RON DEMARSE

Post-Production

Ron DeMarse teaches video editing and advanced post-production courses. He is an award-winning short filmmaker and is currently editing his feature film debut, The Willows.
